Collecting Diapers for November
Wellpoint Care Network, a Milwaukee community-facing human services organization, has partnered with the Milwaukee Diaper Mission to host “Diapers for Dads.” From November 1 – November 30, 2023, diapers will be collected with the goal of giving 100 diapers to 100 fathers.
Wellpoint Care Network is looking to collect 10,000 diapers. According to Community Engagement Coordinator at Wellpoint Care Network Andrew Bonner, the organization is roughly 2,000 diapers short of its goal, but collections are still ongoing.
Donations are currently being accepted at four Milwaukee locations:
- Wellpoint Care Network’s Social Hall (8901 W. Capitol Dr.)
- Sherman Phoenix Marketplace (3536 W. Fond Du Lac Ave.)
- HoneyBee Sage Wellness & Apothecary (1819 N Doctor M.L.K. Jr Dr.)
- Gee’s Clippers (2200 N Doctor M.L.K. Jr Dr.)
This year marks the first diaper drive. The idea came about from Bonner noticing a lack of men at Wellpoint Care Network’s resource fairs. He was informed by a few male participants that most resource fairs are targeted towards women.

More Than Diapers and Wipes
All donations will be distributed to Milwaukee area dads on December 15, 2023. Along with receiving diapers and wipes, fathers will have the opportunity to receive help in other parts of their lives.
The event will be a resource fair for men that will include daycare resources, child support help, education on felony pardons, health screenings, and more.
“The overall goal is to provide things that empower fathers,” said Bonner.
Bonner encourages others to start acknowledging fathers to ensure that our fathers know they are important and valuable people. He said we can help out fathers by giving them a hand up even when we think they have it all together. This could look like helping a man get his GED, informing him about a program that allows him to attend college for free, or offering him a job.
“Yes men are strong, but yes we need help too,” said Bonner.
