Funding and Mentorship
The second annual BMAC x Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis Music Maker Grant applications have officially opened. In 2023, the Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC), Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, and ASCAP started the grant to support emerging Black music producers and songwriters.
The grant was created to honor the songwriting and record production team Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Each year a grantee receives funding for studio time and mentorship from the BMAC Board and Executive Leadership Council Members and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
In a press release, CEO & President of BMAC Willie “Prophet” Stiggers said the organization sees the impact of investing in the next generation, which is why this grant is so pivotal.
“Black Music Action Coalition is committed to ensuring the next generation of leaders in our industry are equipped with the knowledge, resources, and access that our community deserves and does not always receive.”
