World’s Most Celebrated Prince Tribute “The Purple xPeRIeNCE” Comes to Milwaukee’s MPAC on October 24

Honoring Prince Since 2011

The most celebrated tribute to Prince in the world is coming to Milwaukee on October 24, 2024, at the Marcus Performing Arts Center. Since 2011, Marshall Charloff & The Purple xPeRIeNCE has been touring the world honoring the musical talent Prince.

The Purple xPeRIeNCE was founded in Prince’s hometown of Minneapolis by Charloff and Matt “Doctor” Fink the keyboardist from Prince & The Revolution. The band plays 100% live, with untracked music to truly honor Prince’s artistry. Charloff said the band never plays a song the same way during a performance.

According to the site, The Purple xPeRIeNCE has performed for over 1 million fans. In 2019, the band was selected by the US Department of State to be featured in the USA Pavillion of the World Expo in Dubai.

The Prince tribute band is led by Charloff, and features Cory Eischen on the keys, Ron Long on bass, Tracey Blake on guitar, and Ron Carson on drums. Their performances involve extravagant scenery and clothing that can make you feel as if you’re watching Prince himself.

“It’s as authentic as you can be,” said Charloff. “When we celebrate Prince it’s on a deeper level.”

Meet the Band Lead

As a Minneapolis native himself, Charloff met Prince at an early age. During this time, he attended a few of Prince’s rehearsals where he saw the legend hone in on his craft. Charloff said it was powerful to watch Prince create music.

“Prince was Blues, Jazz, Country, he was every genre,” said Charloff.

Charloff was 19 years old when he was signed by producer Pepe Willie, who also signed Prince. According to the site, Charloff is featured on 94 East albums with Prince, where he plays guitar and Prince is on vocals.

Charloff is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer. He has written, produced, and recorded for the multi-platinum and Grammy award-winning Commodores. He’s even completed a Las Vegas residency, where he starred in “Purple Piano: The World’s Only One-Man Tribute to Prince”.

As people prepare for the Milwaukee show, Charloff encourages them to be in the moment.

“Leave your phone at home, I dare you,” said Charloff.
