First Original Feature Film

On February 1, 2025, influencer Antonio “Tony Talks” Baldwin’s first original feature film, “Boss Up: The Musical” became available on Revry to start Black History Month off. Revry is a free app founded in 2015 and is the world’s first LGBTQ+ streaming network.

According to a press release, Baldwin created the original songs and choreography. The film is directed by Tee Johnson and Sydney Stewart.

Baldwin, who has over 7 million followers across multiple social media platforms, wrote the feature film and stars in it as Cassandra. Baldwin says Cassandra is a mix of The Devil Wears Prada’s main character, Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep, and Mean Girls’ Regina George, played by Rachel McAdams. He added that she’s a likable villain, someone that audiences will respect like the Grinch.

According to Revry’s site, Boss Up follows high-powered executive Cassandra, who embarks on a journey of self-discovery after being fired.

“A lot of us don’t know who we are outside of what we do,” said Baldwin, but he also added that we change every day and second, and that’s okay too.

His film is a comedy and musical with an overall theme about knowing who you are and walking within that.

“I want people to learn how to boss up in their own lives,” he said.

Revry hosted a red carpet premiere for Boss Up on January 29, 2025 part of Atlanta’s Out of Film Festival. AngelicaRossstar of FX’s “Pose” and “American Horror Story”, moderated a Q&A with Baldwin after the screening, followed by a VIP reception.

From Influencer to Filmmaker

Baldwin is originally from Fairfax, VA, and moved to Georgia with his family around nine years ago. Baldwin has made hundreds of content videos and first went viral in 2020 for the “LET’S GO CLOCK OUT” video. His content is highly influenced by growing up in a household of women.

Baldwin was formally trained in acting at Words in Motion Studio, and his film credits include “Beast Beast” with Executive Producer Alec Baldwin and the independent film “We Did A Bad Thing“.

Baldwin embraced a slower creative process, expanding his storytelling from short social media bursts to a full-length film.

One of the biggest lessons Baldwin learned while working on Boss Up was to get a team. Baldwin didn’t plan on going the distribution route until his team told him to dream bigger.

“When it comes to something of this [size]…you need a team to do it,” said Baldwin. “…sometimes a man of many hats drops one. I learned I need a team to take myself from one step to another.”
