A Surprise Donation
Women celebrating women is what Grind Pretty is all about. Grind Pretty is a lifestyle and resource platform that empowers women to achieve their dreams while looking and feeling their best. The platform recently held its annual Grind Pretty Fest in Atlanta from April 11-13, 2025, at the West Side Cultural Arts Center.
Grind Pretty Fest is a mix of fun that includes panels, live performances, an award ceremony, a Sunday brunch, and a $5,000 pitch competition for women-owned businesses.
Downsouth legend Trina took the stage at the 2025 Grind Pretty Fest in Atlanta.
On April 13, 2025, the final day of this year’s fest in Atlanta, Grind Pretty received a surprise $20,000 donation from Tai Roberson, Senior VP of Philanthropy and Community Impact at Wells Fargo, to support their continued impact. This marks five years of Grind Pretty Fest in Atlanta.
Mia “Mimi” Johnson is the woman behind Grind Prett,y and she’s been quietly investing her own money into the business. Johnson was completely shocked by the donation and couldn’t help but show her emotions and gratitude in the room full of women.
“It’s a testament that God is here,” said Johnson.”…I know that I’m doing it with purpose.”
Johnson is a beauty professional, marketing consultant, and entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience. She has worked on major TV networks, including Bravo and VH1, and has styled celebrities, including Angela Simmons and Ruth Carter. She’s also partnered with brands such as Colgate, Shea Moisture, and Cantu, among other things.
Throughout the years, she’s consistently uplifted women and has gone through struggles in silence. The donation symbolized to Johnson that she is seen, heard, loved, and supported.
Johnson said that no matter what you have going on in this life, you are not alone.

Grind Pretty Fest Atlanta Pitch Competition Winner
Before the $20,000 Wells Fargo donation was announced, Grind Pretty Fest hosted its annual $5,000 pitch competition for women-owned businesses. Tiffany Ellis of G Ann’s Cold Pressed won, taking home the prize.
Ellis began juicing at home and now operates out of a commercial kitchen. She’ll use the pitch competition winnings to cover expenses, including kitchen rent.
After being laid off due to DEI cuts, Ellis decided to pursue her juicing business full-time after two years part-time. G Ann’s offers organic juices like turmeric shots, Beets With a Bang, and Gold Carrot, aiming to make juicing accessible and enjoyable.
G Ann’s Cold Pressed is named after Ellis’s late mother, Gillian.
“I thank you all for pouring into the legacy,” said Ellis.
Ellis and the other pitch competition participants will receive support from the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs.
